Everyone has a story…
After wowing audiences last year in The Court Theatre’s production of ‘Songs for Nobodies’, Ali is off to New York! After being awarded Best Actress at New York’s United Solo Festival for her performance in ‘Bombshells’ in 2014, Ali has been invited to return as an Encore performer with ‘Songs for Nobodies’.
“In just six years since its creation, the United Solo Festival is already considered one of the world’s most important theatre events.” – Jessica Ruhstorfer, World Guide
“Actor-creators go it alone in this annual celebration of solo performance, billed as the largest of its kind in the world” – TimeOut New York
Judy Garland, Patsy Cline, Edith Piaf, Billie Holidayand Maria Callas touch the lives of five every-day women, resulting in stories of life-changing encounters. The singer has her story and the listener hers, and should these touch each other, there can be magic.
“Profound, ironical, funny, moving and ultimately astonishing, Songs for Nobodies is outstanding entertainment.” – Manawatu Standard
“…in this production we are transfixed by a performer at her peak. In fact she is so good at times, I hardly recognise her – she has become the alter egos she represents.” – Theatreview NZ.
