    NEW ZEALAND (Feb 26, 2020) – BEN ELTON today announced he will tour New Zealand with a brand-new stand-up show, Ben Elton Live in May 2021. He last performed stand-up in New Zealand in 2006 but has now returned to the stage, having recently completed a sell-out 75-date UK tour.

    Ben Elton exploded onto the comedy scene more than 30 years ago, hosting Channel 4’s groundbreaking Saturday Live. Since then Elton has achieved huge success as a stand-up comic, author, playwright, actor and director. He's written television shows such as The Young Ones, Blackadder 2, Blackadder The Third, Blackadder Goes Forth, The Thin Blue Line, the famous ‘exam’ episode of Mr Bean and many more, as well writing and directing two feature films: 2000’s Maybe Baby and 2017’s Australian-made Three Summers. In 2018, he wrote Kenneth Branagh’s critically acclaimed biopic of William Shakespeare All Is True which starred Judi Dench and Ian McKellen. Earlier this month, the live theatre production of his hit BBC TV series Upstart Crow opened at The Gielgud Theatre in London’s West End.

    Hamilton Operatic Society presents Chicago, a story of murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation, adultery, and treachery – all those things we hold near and dear to our heart.

    Roxie Hart is in prison for murdering her lover and trying to pin it on her hapless husband Amos. She meets Velma Kelly, a murderess and a headline star and the two decide to form an unusual nightclub act to keep them in the public eye. Velma shrewdly enlists prison matron Mama Morton and slickster lawyer Billy Flynn, who turn her incarceration into a media frenzy, in preparation for a splashy showbiz comeback. But Roxie’s got some tricks of her own…

    tour & have secured new dates for 2021 and added extra shows. All tickets remain valid for the new
    dates.
    The tour will now take place in September and October 2021 and they look forward to bringing some
    joy back to New Zealand once these dark days are over.

    We are letting you know that Leaving Jackson at the Clarence St Theatre has been rescheduled to Thursday 18th of November 2021, 7:30pm
    All existing tickets remain valid for the rescheduled shows without the need for exchange.

    Statement from Jeff Carter:
    Due to the ongoing speculation of the borders between Australia and New Zealand still being considered, we have made the decision to play it safe and reschedule this years tour into November 2021.
    This will make certain life will be back to normal and no one will risk not being able to make the event.
    Rescheduled Performance is - Thursday 18th of November, 2021.
    All tickets will be honoured from the previous date of March 26, 2021
